For a smaller business, the idea of supporting charity can seem daunting. However, while approaching the issue, it is important to remember that many other businesses have already paved the way. Many major corporations around the world already contribute to charities.

1. Chevron. As a thriving oil company, Chevron is a very profitable business that gives generously to charitable causes. Some charities Chevron supports are closely linked to its overall business aims, such as Project Lead the Way, which provides money for engineering programs in schools. Chevron has also been a large contributor to the Niger Delta Partnership Initiative Foundation, which is committed to helping foster economic development in Nigeria.

2. Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo is one of the largest banks in America, and it is also one of the largest contributors to charity in the corporate world. In particular, Wells Fargo has spent time developing a partnership with NeighborWorks America, which helps new homebuyers affected by the housing crisis. The company also supports Opportunity Finance Network, which provides banking services in low-income areas.

3. General Electric. General Electric is affiliated with United Way. This unique charity organizes funds and reallocates them to needs within a community. General Electric is also a primary sponsor of National Medical Fellowships. This program is designed to support advancement in the medical field, primarily through scholarships and service learning programs.

These large corporations have a lot of flexibility, but businesses of all sizes can start contributing to charity on any scale today.
